Sunflower Portraits

There is an enormous field of sunflowers in a park near the house that has been in full bloom. It took a lot of work, but I finally coerced my girls into letting me take them there and get some photos of them with the sunflowers in the background. I shot a lot of the photos with a film camera and I don’t have those photos developed yet, but I am eagerly awaiting them.

I have tried for a sunset here, but the sky has not been very cooperative.

My plan was to get there about an hour before sunset as the sun would be well placed to get photos with the treeline in the background rather than houses. As you can see, there is a large field of flowers before the treeline allowing for some nice depth and blurring of the yellow field in the distance.

I did manage to get a nice close up of a butterfly on one of the flowers.

I am sure this field will be dead and gray in a couple of months, but it is nice most of the year with the different varieties of flowers that crop up.

            1. Well not many, LOL! Mincemeat pie is my Dad’s favorite pie but it doesn’t tempt me at all!! My Mom made one for him every Christmas, so he and my sister got a whole pie to themselves, for they were the only ones who liked it. Its another Pa.Dutch pie. 🙂

            2. I remember trying a piece of rhubarb pie a long time ago and I had to make myself eat it as not to be rude, but I did not like it at all.

I don’t really like pumpkin pie, which makes it easy this time of year to turn down pie.

            3. I will agree with you about pumpkin pie. Pumpkin spice lattes are good though. 🙂

When I was a waitress the owner of the restaurant made the best rhubarb pie! That was the only time I ever had rhubarb pie. All of her pies were good.
