I went out for a little shoot, but had mostly disappointing results. There was only one photo that I really liked. It was this butterfly perched on a stalk of long grass. I just think that it goes well against the background and I like the butterfly’s wings.
A distant honorable mention would go to this sunflower. I like it mainly because it looks happy and I think the square crop works well.
Then there was a bee, but I don’t think it reads well against the flower.
I’ll get out again soon. Tell me what you think in the comments.
You have them in the order that I like them. All are good, bee shots kind of give me the creeps sometimes. (I had a bad experience once with a stinging insect swarm)

I have been stung by a lot of bees, but bee stings don’t bother me much so I guess I like bees. I have had a bad experience with a wasp before though.

My bad experience was also with wasps. Got stung over 50 times and since then anything thing with a stinger spooks me!

I like the bee shot anyway. The yellow of the flower compliments the yellow on the bee, giving me a strong impression of yellow. Leaves me feeling cheerful. Or cowardly, I’m not sure which.
But I do agree that the butterfly shot is the best. It’s a beautiful butterfly, in my view, with all it’s different colors, the sleek outlines of the wings, and the polka-dotted body.

I am glad to change your disposition in someway. Hopefully cheerful and sunny thinking of the long suffering Mrs. Gnu.

She is long suffering, to have put up with nearly 30 years of me.

“Loooong suffering”….That probably is a good word! LOL!

That’s probably why mine pulled the pin several years ago.

Oh I know that women can cause long suffering too. Unless she was really anti-puns! That may have caused the long-sufferjng. π

Puns and poetry have a lot in common. I don’t see how anyone could be against them.

Hmm…so tell me, when are you going to start sharing poetry? I do like poetry! π

I like all the shots but agree about the butterfly being the best. I like its unique colors!
Sunflowers are a happy flower, my daughter’s favorite flower.

Yes, being that our kitchen is yellow with aunflowers around, may have helped lead to my daughter loving sunflowers. π

In Texas you are required to have the bluebonnet as your favorite flower. I could be ostracized if I say too much about sunflowers.

Okay I’m from Texas and I think I like sunflowers more than the Bluebonnet okay? lol
Also, the butterfly picture is just gorgeous, and her name is Hilda by the way.

That is a very common butterfly around here. I donβt know if I will be able to find Hilda again. I watched one similar to this emerge from a cocoon in my front yard last year.
I like sunflowers too, especially against a blue or partly cloudy sky.

The sunflower one is really spreading happiness. The depth of field in background of butterfly pic is really adding the beauty to it.

Though the bee pic looks like the bee sucked the life from the flower and is drying it upπ

Even you don’t like the result much, I think they are lovely, though. π

I like the square crop of the sunflower. My wife’s got a row of giant sunflowers growing nicely so they should make for good photo projects over the next few months. ( I can also see them as I’m typing this so I won’t have to go far! )
